As many have pointed out, NFT gaming in its current state is broken. We have just gone through the first cycle where new incentive structures and customer acquisition methods were experimented upon via the financialization of games, marrying elements from DeFi and NFTs to create the first wave of NFT games. Although these initial experiments have largely failed, there are those that continue to push the narrative forward and will bring us into the second wave of NFT gaming where new paradigms are established, as outlined in our first blog. For this reason, we have extremely strong, long-term conviction when it comes to the space and have assembled an experienced team of crypto native gamers, economists, data analysts, product wizards, and more to build during any market and assist the 3b gamers around the world who are entering the world of NFT gaming.
Entering a new dawn
At lyceum, we set out with the mission to connect the NFT gaming economy. To achieve this goal we focused on matching skilled players with the most compatible NFTs to enhance performance for the millions of gamers flooding into the nascent space, building an ecosystem of highly skilled NFT gamers in the process. While venturing down the rabbit hole and being faced with the decision of what game to deploy into next, we struggled to aggregate easy-to-read, non-biased data specifically for NFT games and their economies which inhibited us from making the most informed decisions in a timely manner. With this problem identified and then echoed by players and investors across the space, the idea for Nami was born. Nami is the next wave of NFT game analytics, a comprehensive data analytics platform to discover actionable insights on NFT games and their economies that we will soon be releasing to the public for free.
Making sense of NFT game economies is not easy
While deep-diving into both existing and upcoming NFT games, we quickly realized that we needed to scour a variety of different platforms (Twitter, Discord, whitepapers, etc.) as well as general data tools (Dune, Nansen, etc.) to paint a complete picture. While public, on-chain data is the most honest, it is considerably difficult to pull for the average player and investor who do not know how to write code. On top of the struggle to understand a game's sustainability, growth, and demographics, there are currently no tools that allow you to reliably monitor and track your GameFi portfolio across various games and blockchains. This lack of data and transparency has led to countless newcomers getting rekt while not being able to properly assess their lifetime performance to date.
Nami is providing the go-to tool for NFT game analysis
Enter Nami - a tailored data analytics tool for NFT games and their economies, including a GameFi portfolio tracking feature that will span across multiple blockchains. Nami is where players, investors, game economists, games, and guilds will go to perform actions such as monitoring game sustainability, screening upcoming projects, understanding game activity, and discovering their next opportunity to either invest their time, capital or both. In this sense, Nami is an educational platform created by gamers, game economists, data analysts, and more, providing actionable insights on NFT gaming and bringing together like-minded individuals to learn and grow together in this space. We are extremely excited about the future of this space and are looking to provide the tools needed to help onboard the next wave of users.
Get early Nami access
By the end of this week, lyceum (all social media accounts and this very blog) will have been converted to Nami. Through the Nami socials and blog, we will continue to push the same content and insights, making sense of the current state of NFT gaming and its components but this time using our own Nami data. If you would like to stay up to date on roadmap updates, play a role in future product decisions, and gain early access to Nami, please navigate to nami.gg and drop us your email. Should you choose to dive deeper and engage with the Nami community, you can now join the Nami Discord server. The Nami Discord is where we will continuously share information, news, and opinion pieces pertinent to the industry, moderate discussions around existing game economies, and hold our own panels on selected topics.
We hope to see you there and cannot wait to show you what we have been building 🌊
